Summer Sun 04:07
Running down this highway At the break of day 50 miles lay in the mirror Now we’re on our way The lines along the roadside Pace us as we go Memories of yesterday Flow from the radio Summer sun Flowing over me Rising o’er The tops of the trees Hold me close Show me how to fly Summer sun Bring a tear to my eye Pulling into Grayling By the afternoon Take a break at the five and dime We’ll be at the campground soon Our summer trip to Hartwick Among the tall white pine Breathing in the warm fresh air We begin our summertime Summer sun Flowing over me Rising o’er The tops of the trees Hold me close Show me how to fly Summer sun Bring a tear to my eye Whisper in the shadows Under towering trees As we hike along the path Forging memory Later at the campsite Laughing ‘round the fire Talk about the fun that day Is all our hearts desire Summer sun Flowing over me Rising o’er The tops of the trees Hold me close Show me how to fly Summer sun Bring a tear to my eye

The rising sun on an open sea A boy and a girl in company The boy says “girl, won’t you take my hand And dance on the golden sand” The boy and the girl they begin to dance The first step to take in a grand romance The boy and the girl in company Down by the shining sea Hey now come along Join your voice to the swelling song Hey now come with me Down to the rolling sea The sea shore there in the salty air The first step to take in a grand affair The boy spins the girl like a spinning top In a dance that will never stop Hey now come along Join your voice to the swelling song Hey now come with me Down to the rolling sea The boy and the girl they are dancing still Down by the shore where their footsteps fill Up with the water from the shining sea Let’s join them you and me Hey now come along Join your voice to the swelling song Hey now come with me Down to the rolling sea

In My Soul 04:42
The summer sun Rises warm and silent Summer flowers Blooming white and violet Now Trees they sway Along the lake shore Summer peace is all we wait for Now Though memories fade Into the sunshine Upon a breath They live in my mind And from my past The vision stands so clear Upon a time In my childhood These broken walls Among the deep wood Spoke To my soul Their stories fade But not forgotten Of lives that lived And loves besotten Here In my soul I stand here now Among the shadows Breathing life Into the hollows Now I search my heart For a reason For my life In this lonely season Now Though memories fade Into the sunshine Upon a breath They live in my mind And from my past The vision stands so clear Upon a time In my childhood These broken walls Among the deep wood Spoke To my soul Their stories fade But not forgotten Of lives that lived And loves besotten Here In my soul Though memories fade Into the sunshine Upon a breath They live in my mind And from my past The vision stands so clear Upon a time In my childhood These broken walls Among the deep wood Spoke To my soul Their stories fade But not forgotten Of lives that lived And loves besotten Here In my soul

As I walk along this path My life laying out before Traveling on to who knows where Not knowing what’s in store Green grass underneath my feet Blue sky up above Memories wrapped around my soul Breathing joy and love Travel just a ways with me Bring some warmth into my heart Share a little of your life with me Till it’s time to part Green grass underneath my feet Blue sky up above Memories wrapped around my soul Breathing joy and love We’re here upon this earth Just for a little while Make the most of what’s been given you Leave behind only smiles Green grass underneath my feet Blue sky up above Memories wrapped around my soul Breathing joy and love Green grass underneath my feet Blue sky up above Memories wrapped around my soul Breathing joy and love

Summertime 04:21
Lazy days In the sunshine Letting the hours slide by Summer’s here Like an old friend Welcome it with a smile Lemonade Poured from the picture Ice cream churn Oh how I missed ya Picnic lunch Down by the mill pond Skipping stones Until the day’s gone Running fast Under the pine trees Flying kites Catching the warm breeze Sailing high Up on the tire swing Laughing till it hurts Hazy days As the sun glows Down on the world below Time slows down Daylight lengthens As we’re running to and fro Lemonade Poured from the picture Ice cream churn Oh how I missed ya Picnic lunch Down by the mill pond Skipping stones Until the day’s gone Running fast Under the pine trees Flying kites Catching the warm breeze Sailing high Up on the tire swing Laughing till it hurts When it’s gone Summer’s over Fading into the Fall Time to think And remember Happy we do recall Lemonade Poured from the picture Ice cream churn Oh how I missed ya Picnic lunch Down by the mill pond Skipping stones Until the day’s gone Running fast Under the pine trees Flying kites Catching the warm breeze Sailing high Up on the tire swing Laughing till it hurts

Memories of this old town Wrapped in rust And buried in the ground The future’s gone Fading into past What once was Didn’t have the strength to last The coal black train Heading down the track Once it’s gone It ain’t coming back Progress breaks Against the cliffs of time Fools they search For things to hold Live for now Their mantra holds Like drinking dust They’re never satisfied This town once was The place to be So many lives Are written in these streets But when fortunes fade And the rest desert The façade it crumbles Bleeding pain and hurt The coal black train Heading down the track Once it’s gone It ain’t coming back Progress breaks Against the cliffs of time Fools they search For things to hold Live for now Their mantra holds Like drinking dust They’re never satisfied This old town isn’t gone for good If people lived their lives like they knew they should Always live for love never live for hate Put aside the greed it’s not too late This old town it can return With a will to live and a will to learn Address the want and fulfill the need In this old town it can succeed For those still here Now left behind Out of place And often out of mind The world moves on Without looking back Pick up the pieces Of the ruin and wrack The coal black train Heading down the track Once it’s gone It ain’t coming back Progress breaks Against the cliffs of time Fools they search For things to hold Live for now Their mantra holds Like drinking dust They’re never satisfied Memories of this old town Wrapped in rust And buried in the ground

You're Gone 03:27
Silent here as my old guitar The music it no longer comes The well run dry as are my eyes Forever shaded from the sun As life slips by just outside the door I don’t see it for I’m looking down I sit and wait here inside myself I’m lost but never really found Tomorrow fades into the past Before I get a chance to breath What is this life this tattered shell Empty as a broken sieve I reach for you and your fading smile Forever now just out of sight This hollow house our lives once filled The shadows stole away the light My life I find a bitter pill I no longer have a reason why You’re gone Tomorrow fades into the past Before I get a chance to breath What is this life this tattered shell Empty as a broken sieve I reach for you and your fading smile Forever now just out of sight This hollow house our lives once filled The shadows stole away the light My life I find a bitter pill I no longer have a reason why You’re gone Sitting here with my old guitar Waiting for the words to come Searching through my memories Looking for the perfect one My shattered heart upon the floor Scattered where I let it lay To find somehow once more to feel A momentary yesterday
